When you become a teenager and wonder why you want to keep your toes and nails manicured, now you'll know why, because you learned early that it was important to look good. I'm glad your parents know that this is important, because it is.
I can tell you that at almost 50 years old that over the years all of these "girly" things had seemed like a complete waste of time to me. I was more focused on being smart (learning, education, degrees) than "trying" to look pretty, for who?, for what? BUT it is great that you are learning EARLY in life that doing "girly" things is IMPORTANT.
You are pretty. You will always be pretty (and because you are pretty, those who aren't "pretty" will try to make you feel "bad" about being pretty, they'll find things "wrong" with you - don't worry about that or them - just stay focused on being Danaja and live your life based on Desiderata). Having manicured hands and toes is a good thing, it just can't be the most important thing. You can't just be pretty on the outside. The beauty on the outside has to be balanced with what's inside of you - your essence - your personality - your being. The key is that you have to live a balanced life.
Watching you and sharing time with you I've seen that you are and will always be the center of attention. I also see that you are independent and are very flexible or adaptable to whatever situation you are in. As I watched you turn on and off Mikayla's i-pad, twist the top off the water bottle, play with the Legos and go right to the potty and use it in just one weekend - I saw a level the genius that is inside of you.
I read the other day that Einstein didn't talk until he was three years old. I thought about you. You're just taking it all in right now - this world - this Shared Reality that we call Earth. I thought about that there are some people who are just destined for greatness. They are born for greatness. That is why they are born - to be great, to be known, to make an impact on this world.
Their greatness comes because they are individuals and they know that they have come to earth to "express" something - to be an "expression" that is unique. They watch and they observe, but they don't run with the pack, they don't follow a path, they create their own path. You're one of those people. I'm not saying this because I'm you're grandmother, I'm saying it because it's what I've observed and it's what my heart is telling me.
I want you to try everything that interests you. I want you to travel and see the world before you're 16 years old - every Continent. Traveling and seeing other cultures (dress, food, houses, entertainment, music, dance) and new things is very important and I have every intention to make that happen for you. You can forget about sitting around during the summers, I intend to give you as many experiences as I can.
